(Rightallegiance.com) – A longtime musician for The Beach Boys, Jeffrey Foskett, passed away on Monday, December 12th. In his late ages he was diagnosed with anaplastic thyroid cancer.
Brian Wilson, one of the main members of the Beach Boys, was quick to share with the public about his death and the memories they shared. He posted a tribute on Facebook.
On the Facebook post, Wilson said, “I’m so heartbroken that my dear friend Jeff Foskett has passed. Jeff was always there for me when we toured and we couldn’t have done it without him. Jeff was one of the most talented guys I ever knew. He was a great musical leader and guitarist and he could sing like an angel.”
According to Wilson, the first time they had met, Foskett was so welcoming and wanted to have a genuine connection with them.
A few years after meeting Wilson, Jeff Foskett was recruited by another member of the Beach Boys to join a spinoff band called Endless Summer. Wilson was planning to leave the band, so he wanted Jeff Foskett to replace him.
Foskett toured with them for almost 10 years, then left the band in 1990. In 1998, he came back and toured with Wilson again.
He toured for several more years, then stopped in 2013. But in 2014, he joined back with the Beach Boys with Love. In 2018, he was diagnosed with terminal thyroid cancer.
